Embodied Healing After Grief, Trauma, or Loss
Grief, trauma, and loss do not only live in our thoughts. They live in the body.
They show up in the nervous system, in our breath, in patterns of tension, in the ways we disconnect or protect ourselves in order to keep going.
Embodied healing is not about forcing yourself to “move on.” It is about gently learning how to return to your body, at your own pace.
What Does It Mean to Feel Embodied?
To feel embodied is to feel present within yourself.
For some, this comes naturally. For others, especially after trauma or loss, it can feel unfamiliar or even unsafe.
You might notice:
Feeling disconnected or numb
Living mostly in your thoughts
Difficulty relaxing or slowing down
All of these are valid responses.
Healing Through the Body
Practices like massage therapy, acupuncture, and bodywork offer a different entry point into healing.
Instead of talking your way through an experience, you begin by:
Noticing sensation
Softening tension
Allowing the body to release what it has been holding
This process is not forced. It unfolds over time, with care and consistency.
A Space That Moves at Your Pace
There is no expectation here to go deeper than you are ready for.
Each session is guided by consent, communication, and your body’s signals.
The goal is not to fix you, but to support you in reconnecting with yourself in a way that feels steady and sustainable.
You Don’t Have to Have It All Figured Out
You don’t need the right words.
You don’t need a clear goal.
You don’t need to be “ready.”
You can simply begin.
